How It Works
From posting to payout, the whole job lives in one place.
Shippers post a load
Set your pickup, destination, load type, and your price. You're in control of the rate.
Verified drivers claim it
Insured, license-verified drivers see loads that match their truck and claim the ones they want.
Deliver & get paid
Payment is held securely when the load is claimed and released to the driver once delivery is confirmed.
Built on Trust
A freight marketplace only works if both sides can rely on it. Here's how we protect every job.
Every driver is verified
Before a driver can claim a single load, they upload a valid driver's license and a current Certificate of Insurance — both reviewed and approved by our team.
Secure payments
When a driver claims your load, the funds are authorized and held by Stripe — not paid out until delivery is confirmed. Drivers know they'll be paid; shippers know the work gets done first.
Licensed & brokered
You set your own rate, and Broker the Road brokers the load — handling the contract, the payment, and the protection so every haul is covered.
One flat 3% fee
No subscriptions, no hidden markups. A simple 3% platform fee on the load rate, shown to you before anything is charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
The essentials, up front.
How do payments work?
Shippers add a card or bank account to their account. When a driver claims a load, the load rate plus a 3% platform fee (and the card processing fee) is authorized on the shipper's payment method and held securely by Stripe. The driver is paid automatically once delivery is confirmed. The full breakdown is always shown before anything is charged.
How are drivers vetted?
Every driver must upload a valid driver's license and a current Certificate of Insurance. Our team reviews and verifies both before the driver is allowed to claim any loads. Insurance is a hard requirement — no exceptions.
What does it cost?
A flat 3% platform fee on the load rate. No monthly subscriptions and no hidden markups. Drivers keep the rest of their rate; shippers see the exact total before confirming.
What if something goes wrong with a delivery?
Funds aren't released to the driver until delivery is confirmed, so shippers stay in control. If there's a problem, reach out to our team at admin@brokertheroad.com before confirming and we'll help sort it out.
Do I need my own authority or broker license?
No. Broker the Road is the licensed freight broker on every load. You just need to be a legitimate shipper with freight to move, or a licensed, insured driver ready to haul.
